Patricia Phelps de Cisneros will join Eduardo F. Costantini, founder and president of the Museo de Arte Latinoamericano de Buenos Aires (MALBA), for the closing conversation of Latinoamérica en escena, Seminario Internacional MALBA 25. The full seminar will be livestreamed by MALBA on its YouTube channel.
The conversation will reflect on the decisions and strategies that have shaped Patricia Phelps de Cisneros’s work over more than five decades to advance the study and international visibility of Latin American art. Particular attention will be given to her longstanding relationship with The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York and to the role that collections and cultural institutions can play in building knowledge and expanding the presence of Latin American art within global art history.
The seminar forms part of MALBA’s 25th-anniversary celebrations and brings together artists, curators and cultural leaders from around the world to consider artistic practice, collecting, institutional relationships and the international circulation of Latin American art.
