Open Call: CIMAM Travel Grant Program 2025

The Colección Patricia Phelps de Cisneros (CPPC) is sponsoring two travel grants to support the attendance of modern and contemporary art museum professionals, including directors, curators, researchers, and independent curators from the Dominican Republic, Venezuela, and their diasporas to CIMAM’s 2025 Annual Conference, Enduring Game: Expanding New Models of Museum Making, which will be held in Turin, Italy, 28–30 November 2025.

The period to apply through CIMAM's application form is from May 26–June 16, 2025

Eligibility
Eligibility is open to modern and contemporary art museum directors, curators, and researchers, and independent curators who are Dominican or Venezuelan nationals living in their home countries, or residing and working in countries classified under Groups C, D, or E according to CIMAM’s eligibility criteria. Applicants living in countries listed under Groups A and B are not eligible.

Researchers and independent curators must have a demonstrated specialization in contemporary art theory or museum studies. To check your country’s classification, please consult CIMAM’s list of eligible countries. While curators of all career levels are encouraged to apply, priority is given to junior curators (less than 10 years of experience). Applicants having received CIMAM grants from the same contributor will not be considered for a new grant before 3 years.

Purpose of the Grant
The support is limited to cover conference registration*, travel expenses (round-trip economy airfare only), and accommodation in one of the hotels recommended by CIMAM. Distribution of funds is determined on a case-by-case basis. Funds are exclusively related to supporting the purpose for which the grant has been awarded.

*Conference registration includes access to all conference sessions, workshops, lunches, dinners, refreshment breaks, organized visits, and coach transportation to and from planned activities. All registered delegates receive a copy of the conference program and a courtesy tote bag. The grant does not cover registration or expenses related to the post-conference tour.

Selection Process
Travel grant applications are evaluated by the CIMAM Travel Grant Committee, which includes the President of CIMAM and eight members of the Board together with the Colección Patricia Phelps de Cisneros. Fellowships are awarded based on financial need, the potential benefit to the applicant’s development and/or research, and the relevance of their experience to the objectives of CIMAM.

The list of beneficiaries will be announced once all selected candidates have accepted the Terms and Conditions of the grant.
