The second edition of Zona de despeje will take place on February 13, 2020 at Beatriz Gil Galería in Caracas on occasion of the exhibition Tierra de_gracia.
Moderated by Aixa Sánchez, curator of Tierra de_gracia, and Ileana Ramírez, director of Tráfico Visual, the event will feature presentations by the following artists: Eva Agüero, Sebastián Llovera, Mara Perico, and Lusimar Torrealba.
The presentations explore how these artists address issues related to the natural world, the illegal exploitation of natural resources, and the coexistence between human and non-human living beings. Particular concerns such as the fragility of organic elements and their unstable condition, as well as the power of these resources found in everyday life, are also present in the artists' works.
Zona de despeje is a series of talks and gatherings, organized by Tráfico Visual with the support of allied institutions, that focuses and sheds light on initiatives, movements, and new cadences that represent axes that resonate within the contemporary cultural language of Venezuela.
Zona de despeje 2 is possible thanks to Aixa Sánchez, Ruth Auerbach, Beatriz Gil Galería, and with the support of the Colección Patricia Phelps de Cisneros.
