Tanya Barson is Curator of International Art at the Tate Modern in London. She joined the Tate in 1997 as one of a team of curators focusing on contemporary art (post-1960), working principally on acquisitions and on the opening displays of the permanent collection at Tate Modern. In 2013, Tanya was the co-curator of the exhibition Mira Schendel and in 2001 she co-curated the Turner Prize exhibition and has been working in partnership with
Tate’s Adjunct Curator of Latin American Art to acquire works by modern and contemporary artists from Latin America for the collection.
