Patricia Velasco Barbieri
Patricia has a bachelors degree in Social Psychology from the Central University of Venezuela. In 2003 she obtained the Diploma of Advanced Studies in Art and Thought at the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Barcelona, Spain. Since 1995 she has been teaching Psychology of Art at the School of Arts in the Central University of Venezuela. She has published the books Psicología y creatividad: una revisión histórica (Desde los autorretratos de los genios del siglo XIX hasta las teorías implícitas del siglo XX) in 2007, and Los arquetipos del genio (El genio inspirado, el genio loco y el genio innato) in 2013, this last one awarded special mention at the Premio a la Investigación de la Facultad de Humanidades y Educación 2008-2009.
She has served as coordinator of the Estudios de Arte del Centro Cultural Consolidado (1992-1993), editor of the catalog of the Iberoamerican Art Fair - FIA (1994-1997), and she was also responsible for the bibliographic and documentary fund for the Cisneros Foundation (1997-1999). Since 2011 she has been director of the Sala Mendoza Foundation.
