Patricia Domínguez is an artist who lives in Santiago and New York. She completed an MFA from Hunter College in New York, and a Certificate in Natural Science and Botanical Illustration from the New York Botanical Garden. Her main projects have been shown at El Museo de Barrio, FLORA ars + natura, Galería Gabriela Mistral, The Watermill Center, the Bienal de la Imagen en Movimiento BIM, Museo de Arte Contemporáneo MAC and Museo Bellas Artes, among others. She has participated in residencies such as the AIM Program at the Bronx Museum in New York (2014), R.A.T México (2014), FLORA ars + natura in Colombia (2013), Institute of Critical Zoologists in Singapore (2012), Sandbard Residency in India (2012), The Watermill Center in New York (2012) and the American Museum of Natural History in New York (2012). She received the CONICYT, Fondart and William Graf Travel Grants.
Her work has been included in Younger Than Jesus: Artist Directory by the New Museum of Contemporary Art and Phaidon Press, among other publications. Recently, she won the Media Art prize from the Fundación Telefónica de Venezuela in 2014; 3rd place in the ‘Premio Norberto Griffa a la creación Audiovisual Latinomericana 2014’ from the BIM; and was selected as a Hot Pick by Smack Mellon 2014.
