The Fundación Cisneros is a private philanthropic organization committed to the future of Latin America. Its mission is both local and global: to improve the quality of life for those in the region while increasing international awareness of contemporary Latin America. Built on the belief that education is the key to democracy and democracy is the key to freedom, the Fundación Cisneros strengthens and promotes Latin America through a variety of programs. These focus on the areas of education, culture, the environment, and community.

Founded by Patricia Phelps de Cisneros, Gustavo Cisneros, and Ricardo Cisneros, in association with the Cisneros Group of Companies, the Fundación Cisneros directs the resources of the Cisneros Group into public service, building innovative programs and partnerships that fortify communities, promote free expression, encourage economic independence, and foster cross-cultural understanding.
