September 2, 2015

The Colección Patricia Phelps de Cisneros and Pivô announce the winner of the 2015 prize Salón Banesco Jóvenes con FIA, which grants an artistic residency at Pivô Research Program to Venezuelan artist Conrado Pittari Volcán.

The second edition of the CPPC Artist Fellowship at Pivô will take place between November 3–17, 2015.  Pivô will guide the artist through an immersion trip to the Brazilian art scene, in an exchange with Brazilian art that will collaborate with his current research. During his residency, Conrado Pittari will have an artist studio at Pivô and will experience the dynamics of its Research program.

Pivô Research is a program that offers various activities that include temporary studios, lectures, workshops and exchange between artists of different nationalities, through partnerships such as the one with the CPPC.

Born in 1983 in Caracas, Venezuela, Conrado Pittari Volcán studied Fine Arts at Universidad de Barcelona, Spain. Among his main exhibitions are: Acera N1. El Anexo/Arte Contemporáneo, Caracas Venezuela (2015); XVIII Salón de Jóvenes con FIA, Centro de Arte los Galpones, Caracas, Venezuela (2015); Panorámica. Arte Emergente en Venezuela (2000-2012); and Sala TAC, Caracas, Venezuela (2014).

In his artistic practice he displaces objects and situations out of their specific contexts, creating new narratives. At Pivô Research Program, the artist will develop his ongoing project that investigates the use of soap operas as a mirror of Latin America to the rest of the world.
